Hey!!
Another super episode. My favorite scene was between Clifton and Audrey. It was a touching finale between the two. We never really got to see them in that bliss state that they spoke about, but it was nice that they were able to connect like that one final time. I think it was a good decision for her to leave town right now too. There's not much else keeping her around ... especially since the scenes and chemistry between Cassie and Clifton are so obviously. The scenes with them and Lucian are cute. Very family-eqsue.
I also liked the Charlene/Patrick scenes. There's still such a bitterness and coldness to them. It's like they have forgotten how and why they fell in love with each other. Charlene going into her room and thinking about having another affair was priceless - as if she didn't just learn her lesson! Meanwhile, Kevin deciding to contact Melaine is interesting too. We haven't heard much about her, so I'm curious to see the type of character she is - assuming she makes her way to the series!
The fall out from Marina learning her article was published was fantastic as well. The scene with Benton & Emily was cute, if only because we don't get to see Benton & Emily much in terms of a real, dramatic storyline, so it was cute to see them moving their relationship along, but within another front-burner storyline. I love how Ryan lied to her that he had no idea who gave the article to the editor - and she jumped to the conclusion that it was Natalie. Fantastic twist!
I'm looking forward to the funeral next episode!
Great read, Dallas

Thanks Dallas!
The Clifton and Audrey scene was definitely needed here. They were each other's first loves and consequently they where the two who knew the other the most. The character of Audrey was never supposed to be a horrible character, she was never a horrible person. It was just that her emotions ruled her and ultimately her fears led to her own downfall. Having them both come to an understanding and then split paths was always my intention and doing this gives way to a possible Clifton/Cassie pairing [: their chemistry is so easy to write and sharing a child has a lot to do with that.
Charlene & Patrick are so dysfunctional in their marriage and I've been trying to portray that in every way possible. Although it's unsure if either actually loved each other when they got married, their bond, although hidden is probably what is keeping them together. They are both definitely their own worst enemy. As the story progress, look for both to band together and fall apart constantly as they have so much to work out as a full fledged married couple.
As for Kevin, seeing Melanie or not, he is definitely questioning his future and what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
What I want to portray is that even when there isn't drama, the couples still do exist. It is constantly stated in Soap Opera Land that is if you have a happy couple, their screentime decreases. So having Bentley and Emily in a random scene, only to inhance it and their relationship is always gold. Look for Gail/Adrian, Miles/Greta & Bentley/Emily to get a little more screentime as the season continues.
Marina is backed into a corner! Not only does she feel bad about sneaking around with Ryan, albiet they were only working on the article together, but she now also feels bad about writing the article in the first place. Her first instinct is to ask Ryan and when he tells her he didn't do it, to Marina the next logical thing is to go after Natalie. But will her damage control be more damage and less control? This definitely will toss the Natalie/Ryan/Marina/Ian couplings up in the air and it will be a marvel to see where everyone ends up.
