2.11 "Headlights On Dark Roads"

I loved this episode. My favorite parts were with Penelope. The scene with her and David where he revealed that she has brain cancer - and that caused her accident - were amazing. You could almost hear her gasp and hold her breath when he told her the truth. She hasn't been featured as long as some of the other characters, but I feel like you've done a great job of characterizing her already. She's like the Grandma that everyone wants to have. It was a great scene. I, then, loved her scenes with Catalina and Izobel. Her reliving a story from her past was a great way to get to know Pen more and also show how sympathic she is to Cat, despite the gun toting episode. The last scene was another doozy with Izobel dying. I'm so interesting to see how Catalina reacts now - if she was out for blood before, I can't imagine how she'll react now!

Ian's scenes were fantastic in the episode too. I like how he was talking to Natalie about everything going on in his life. I somehow suspect that she awoke because she overhead him admit that he told Marina about their parents. She clearly doesn't want them to find out. It'll be interesting to see if Kelly questions Ian again about what she overheard with their conversation.

Marina revealing that's dating Ian now was cute too. It's only natural that people will often suspect that dating someone that had something to do with a break (innocent as it was) would not work out itself. I'm DYING to see what'll happen with Ryan and the phone call! You put that twist in at the right time.

Overall, fantastic episode. Do you know how long your hitatus will be? I can't be without a new episode for too long!

Thanks for commenting Dallas! Like I stated previously with Penelope, the Wilkinson family was my first family created when I first started the series. So fleshing them out in their current generation is something I am aiming to do for the future. I'm hoping this storyline w/ Penelope will do just that. She has always been a pillar in Stone Creek for the struggles she had to overcome and her insertion into the Catalina/Isobel storyline is only the beginning of fleshing out her character. She hasn't always been this strong of a woman and delving into her past will reveal that.

At first with Ian, I never pictured him to last this long in the series, or have such an impact on others around him. I have always pictured him to be a bump in the road for Marina and Ryan. But he has taken on a life of his own and I hope to flesh out his struggles as well with Natalie and his father. Once Ryan comes back, there will be very little developement between Ian and Jared at first, but looke for the storyline to pick up some steam later down the road. I want to be able to establish a few characters and wrap some storylines up first.

I haven't really delved into the Thurlow sister's relationship as much as I wished I could have. There is of course, a power struggle between these two women, like in most sibling relationships. This is only the first of many little disagreements they will have. I've found it tough to write for two characters that are so similar to one another.

The hiatus is only until I get caught up on writing the next couple of episodes. I'm hoping to be posting again by the beginning of June at the latest! Episode 2.12 is coming on along at rapid speed, as it gets a fresh feel to the series and many secrets are coming to the light, just you wait and see!
